A celebration of Russell’s life, which he described as ‘a life well-lived’, resting at A G Adams until the service at Cardiff and Glamorgan Crematorium at 3.00pm on Wednesday 16th April 2025, and afterwards at Barry Athletic Bowling Club, Paget Road, Barry where light refreshments will be served. Mourners are invited to wear bowls blazers/attire, and club ties where applicable or a splash of colour. Family flowers only, and a donation in memory of John can be made to Cancer Research UK. Russell was a renowned bowler in Wales, the UK and on the world stage. He represented Wales over 100 times at National, Commonwealth and World Championship level, winning many national and international titles over his distinguished career. He was a devoted member of Barry Athletic Bowling Club for 74 years.
