Sad to report on another stalwart of Welsh Bowls passing this morning, I think Richard Bowen has written it so well I have simply copied his message and posted below, it includes a link to his tribute on Barry Athletic site, R.I.P. Russell.
I am writing to let you know that another stalwart of Welsh Bowls has sadly passed away, J. Russell Evans sadly passed away this morning just a few months after his great friend and bowls partner Gareth Humphries, both of course from the Barry Athletic Club. Russell was well known throughout the sport both in the UK and worldwide, a former Welsh Captain both indoors and outdoors, a Commonwealth and World Championship representative and a winner of numerous Welsh and British titles.
